In the Tragedy of Julius caesar . A person named Caesar becomes a leader in Rome in a time of fear and he grows powerful. There are many archetypes in this story . Archetypes are people things or symbols that symbolize something in the story as an example caesar is the tragic hero in this story . Here are 3 archetypes and how they compare to archetypes now a days.
1st archetype – caesar himself he represents the hero or tragic hero in the story. And in modern tv and movies what person/thing represents him the best is Anakin Skywalker . From the star wars series Anakin starts as a good guy fighting against evil of the bad guys . But then he is faced with death or near death .
2nd archetype – Brutus he was Caesar’s rival/ friend but brutus backstabbed Caesar and killed him because they feared he would become a tyrant. The person that brutus reminds me of is a woman from the Fast and Furious movies in the 6th installment . A women working against the terrorists was secretly working with them and betrays the group .
3rd archetype – The moon in the story is a sign of disaster for Julius and there are many other signs that point to this but we are focusing on the moon . In the story the moon is acting weird and thats not normal. Julius shrugs it off and goes to the senate anyways. but in real life it could mean disaster as well . The blood moon happens from now and then and it means disaster is soon to strike .
There are many positive benefits to finding and digging into archetypes in old stories like these. They could help the reader understand the story a little better or understand the characters in the story. They are very important sometimes and are present in alot of stories even today’s stories.
